This extra credit will replace a low test score, homework, or assignment of your choice. We have been working on unit rate in the classroom, so now you have an opportunity to do it in the real world at a grocery store! Remember, if you have a big jar (30 oz) of Smucker's jam that cost $8.99 and a small jar of Nature's Hallow jam (8 oz) that cost $2.99, you would write it down. DON'T FORGET THE BRAND- we will be using this in class! You would use a calculator and push $ / ounces = Unit cost We want to know the price per ounce, not how many ounces you can get per dollar.
